DCASA project - KG

    OJSC “Kyrgyztelecom” informs about successful completion of all works under the project “Digital CASA - Kyrgyz Republic”. The executive agency under the project is the Ministry of Digital Development.

      More than 3000 km of fiber-optic communication lines (FOCL) were laid under the project, which exceeds the initial forecasts.

      All state social facilities specified in the contract have been connected, including schools, medical centers, libraries, culture houses and local self-government bodies. All of them have received access to high-speed Internet, and the service is now running in test mode.

      In total, nearly 4,000 social facilities have received high-speed internet access at more favorable rates for the next 7 years. The new backbone transport network, including more than 30 nodes, covers all regions of the country with speeds of up to 200 Gbit/s. The distribution network with speeds of up to 100 Gbit/s covers more than 200 settlements that previously did not have access to broadband data transmission via FOCL. In order to further regional digital integration of the country, two new cross-border connections with Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan were organized under the project.

      The plans for further development of the infrastructure of OJSC “Kyrgyztelecom” envisage construction of additional distribution nodes to ensure access of citizens in almost all corners of the country to state digital services. In accordance with item B 1.1.6 of Annex B to the Agreement, 3 inter-operator nodes (IXPs) were connected.

     Due to the implementation of the Digital CASA - Kyrgyz Republic project, the country has made a significant step forward in the development of digital infrastructure, which contributes to the improvement of the quality of life of citizens and development of the digital economy.
