On July 22, 2025, as part of the Central Asian International Economic Forum held in Dushanbe and Bishkek, Nurlan Sabirovich Madaminov, Director General of OJSC “Kyrgyztelecom”, delivered an online presentation. The topic of his presentation was “The role of telecom operators in ensuring the digital development of economic sectors.” .
“Telecommunications operators are the foundation of the digital economy, providing the necessary infrastructure, technologies, and services for the digital transformation of all sectors of the economy. Their role is becoming increasingly important in the context of rapid technological progress and growing demands for speed and quality of communications,” Nurlan Madaminov noted during his speech at the forum.
The implementation of the large-scale national project Digital CASA – Kyrgyz Republic, carried out with the participation of OJSC “Kyrgyztelecom”, was presented separately. As part of the project, over 3,000 km of fiber-optic communication lines were laid in the country, nearly 4,000 social facilities were connected, and a modern backbone network with high bandwidth was created. New cross-border connections with Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan were also established.
Nurlan Madaminov expressed his gratitude to the leadership of the Kyrgyz Republic for supporting digital initiatives and emphasized the importance of further regional cooperation.
“The support of the leadership of the Kyrgyz Republic plays a key role in the formation of a sustainable digital ecosystem that opens up new opportunities for business, education, healthcare, and other important sectors of the economy. This experience can serve as an example for other countries in the region and inspire joint projects and initiatives,” said the head of Kyrgyz Telecom.
Among the proposals announced during the speech were the holding of regular joint events as part of the “Journey to the Heart of Eurasia” motor rally and the active involvement of the Executive Committee of the Regional Community in the field of communications of the CIS countries in the coordination of digital projects.
The speech by the Director General of OJSC “Kyrgyztelecom” was an important contribution to the discussion on the future of digital development in Central Asia and underscored Kyrgyzstan’s commitment to strengthening regional dialogue in the field of technology and innovation.
